Version 1
Cookie Policy
This covers cookies on EF-Start specifically. Entrepreneurs First's main website has its own, broader cookie policy at joinef.com/cookie-policy — that one describes analytics tools used on the marketing site which are not used here.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website saves on your computer or phone. It lets the site remember things between page loads — most importantly, that you're signed in, so you don't have to log in again on every screen.
What EF-Start uses
EF-Start sets only the cookies it needs to work. There is no advertising, tracking or analytics on this platform, and no third party sets cookies through it.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-…-auth-token | Supabase (our authentication provider) | Keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Without it you'd be logged out on every click. | When your session expires, or when you sign out |
ef_chapter | EF-Start | Remembers which chapter an Admin, Talent Investor or Scout is currently viewing. Only ever set for those roles — never for Starters. | 90 days |
Both are "strictly necessary" or functional cookies. Neither is used to build a profile of you, and neither is shared with anyone.
What EF-Start does not use
To be explicit, and in contrast to the main EF website:
- No Google Analytics
- No Salesforce Pardot
- No YouTube or embedded-video cookies
- No Hotjar or session recording
- No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies
Your choices
Because these cookies are needed for EF-Start to function, there's nothing to switch off without breaking sign-in. If you'd rather not accept them, the alternative is not to use the platform — please tell us and we'll take your application forward another way.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser at any time; see aboutcookies.org for how. If you block the cookies above, you won't be able to stay signed in to EF-Start.
Other data we hold
Cookies are only part of the picture. What we collect when you take part in the challenge — your videos, evidence files, written feedback and scores — is covered by the Privacy Policy.
Changes
If we ever add anything beyond the cookies listed above, we'll update this page and ask you to review it again.
